3-15 Impromptu Ride to Camp Verde

Six EVHOG's wouldn't let a canceled air show get them down.  The group left Desert Wind Harley Davidson on a beautiful Sunday morning, rode up the Beeline to our first stop in Payson.  After losing and then finding a cell phone, we continued into the mountains, riding through Pine and Strawberry and turning onto the Zane Grey Highway, reaching our destination of  the Cliff Castle Casino in Camp Verde.  We enjoyed a classic diner-style lunch at Johnny Rockets where Dyana won Dollars!  By the time we got back on the bikes after lunch, it was time to start shedding layers.  We back-tracked the beautiful ride through the mountains to Payson.  The Payson PD was busy today and were happy to talk to one of us about it.  After fueling up, Bryan led us back into the very warm Valley.  One more stop to shed more layers and we all went our separate ways home.  Traffic was light most of the day and it seemed we had the road to ourselves.  It was a spectacular day for a ride!
