Three retirees went on a warm ride to the Dwarf Car Museum. After visiting what seemed like every red light on Country Club/Arizona Ave, we finally found some clear road south of Gilbert. We continued a pleasant ride to the Dwarf Car Museum. Several other people were touring, though it was not too crowded. We listened to an opening explanation of the origins of the museum and then checked out the cars. There were many more things to look at than the Dwarf cars. The museum is a working machine shop with parts, tools, and partially built cars throughout the property. There are also tones of artifacts, toy cars, and pictures of builds and celebrity vistors, including Jay Leno and Brad Garrett. Ernie Adams, the 85-year-old originator of the museum, was mingling with the visitors, telling tales, answering questions, and taking pictures. He still actively works on the cars. Many of the parts to build the dwarf cars are caniblized from late-70's Toyota Corrollas. Skeletons, original parts, and modified parts are on display throughout the property. After seeing all we could, we rode to Raceway Bar and Grill for lunch and then went our separate ways home. It was a great ride!
